Head Start Program
HCCADC offers a Head Start Programs for children that are free to all those that apply and are accepted. Your child must be 3 years of age by September 1st to be enrolled in the Head Start program. If a child’s birthday is after September 1st your child may still be eligible for the program but will not be able to enroll until they turn 3.
Income is a factor in determining eligibility for the program; however, we encourage all families to apply regardless of income as we will accept over-income families to participate in our program whenever we have those slots to utilize.
Head Start is primarily a federally-funded program that provides education, health and social services to families with children aged 3, 4 and 5. Head Start programs help children develop academic and social skills that prepare them for school and life. While enrolled in a high quality Head Start preschool program, children receive nutritional meals, and additional supports that help them grow mentally, physically and socially.
