CCIS of Huntingdon County

About the Program:

The Subsidized Child Day Care Program is a federal and state funded program established to provide financial support for child care.  A family must meet eligibility criteria for the Subsidized Child Day Care Program established by the Department of Public Welfare.

Programs Available For:

  • Infants
  • Toddlers
  • Preschoolers
  • School Age

Subsidized Child Day Care Requirements:

Currently, each family must meet the following criteria:

  1. The parent(s) must be employed a minimum of 25 hours/week.
  2. The parent(s) work hours must coincide with the hours of needed day care.
  3. The family's monthly gross income must fall within the governmental income guidelines established for their family size.

Application Requirements:

You will need the following information when applying for Subsidized Child Care:

  • Proof of earned income (i.e., pay stubs)
  • Proof of unearned income (i.e., unemployment compensation, disability, social security)
  • Proof of child support received or paid out
  • Proof of hours and days of employment and/or proof of enrollment in a training program (Necessary forms will be supplied by CCIS)
  • Birth dates and social security numbers of all family members

What kind of Care is Available?

You can select any legally operating provider within or outside of Huntingdon County, including: licensed child care centers, licensed group day care homes, registered family day care homes or neighbor / relative care (care in a residence for three or fewer children or care by a relative).

Resource and Referral

CCIS provides child care resource and referral services to all Huntingdon County residents.

CCIS provides consumer education to individuals and groups about quality child care and the Subsidized Child Day Care Program.
